In Japan? They bathe in it. In Paris? The debauchery is so widespread it sometimes seems there's an "en primeur" party on every corner of every street in every arrondissement.
But who said all the Nouveau November fun had to occur nine time zones away? Pouring a wine pressed from the just-concluded harvest (aka "Nouveau") is as solid a way to welcome in fall (ed.: sure beats pumpkin-spiced lattés) — and as great a pretext for a party — as any we know!
So we've invited our friends at Presqu'ile Winery to pour their fresh-off-the-presses 2021 Santa Barbara Gamay Nouveau... and to add some of our other faves of theirs for good measure (Pinot Noir! Chardonnay! Syrah!). With superstar ex-Texan somm Rick Stiles in the house to pour!
