A few years back we declared Matthieu Barret our Winemaker of the Year. (Despite offering to pay for his bear-sized tuxedo, he said he had to stay home in the Rhone.) ... In an effort to entice him again to visit our shores (and accept the big bear hug we've been dying to receive), we're throwing a party to celebrate the arrival of his new vintage!

These are some of our all-time favorite Rhone wines, farmed organically and produced with minimal intervention. Matthieu is a 7th generation vigneronne, who has transitioned his family's vineyards in Cornas to a full old-school farming style - no more machines, only mules, horses, and manual labor. Due to the small production size, these wines only come around once in a while and don't stay on the shelf for long!
